Saskatoon Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) is a multifaceted organization that plays an instrumental role in affordable housing and solutions around homelessness in our community. At SHIP, we work to provide consultation and research services, and front-line support to groups developing affordable housing. We raise awareness about the need for affordable housing and research innovative policy solutions.
To address homelessness, we collaborate with multiple agencies across our city, and all levels of government, with one simple goal: To end homelessness in Saskatoon.
The City of Saskatoon serves as a central hub within Saskatchewan, with tons to offer to over 270,000 residents! We are an inclusive, diverse workforce, where you can build a career and make a real difference in your community.
The City of Saskatoon plays an important role in supporting and facilitating the creation of housing across the continuum in Saskatoon through policy, incentives, research, partnerships, and education. The City recognizes that permanent, affordable, appropriate, safe, and secure housing is the necessary foundation for building a healthy and economically viable community for all residents. In 2023, the City will undertake the development and creation of a new Housing Strategy which will support and adapt to the current housing needs in Saskatoon and continue to build on the valued partnerships with other levels of government, local housing providers and community organizations.
